There are invisible threads that connect the most distant territories, and art is the bridge that makes them visible.

This exhibition was born as a result of a selection in an international call for entries.

"Heart That Flies" is an exhibition by Colombian artist Anacamila Hernández Moncada that explores the meaning of carrying one's home on one's back. In 2024, Anacamila left Colombia and embarked on a journey that took her across the Atlantic Ocean and through numerous countries in Europe and Asia, where she forged friendships, discovered new landscapes, and built connections with the communities in each region. The experiences of this journey became seeds that blossomed into the works gathered in this exhibition. Painting serves as a visual medium that, like a travelogue, records the reflections, emotions, dreams, and aspirations that arose along this journey.

Where do I come from? Where am I going? And who am I? These are some of the questions that permeate this process. The journey far from home and the familiar becomes a catalyst for Ana Camila's artistic exploration, as she addresses themes such as freedom, empathy, and memory through personal symbols and recurring elements that connect her various works.

Through the 28 works that comprise "Heart That Flies," Ana Camila constructs her own artistic universe, situated between her personal experience and the memories linked to her homeland: Puerto Colombia and the Colombian Caribbean. At the same time, the exhibition invites us to recognize ourselves in others, to share dreams, aspirations, and memories in community, reconnecting with our own history and offering a fragment of it to those around us.
