GUARDIAN OF THE HORIZON

This work was born directly from a dream. The vivid image of an imposing blue crab came to mind, a presence that immediately connected me with a deep nostalgia for my home and my roots.

In the landscape stands "la casilla," that old port structure where ships arriving from across the ocean were tested and inspected. Although today these buildings lie in ruins, their cracks and scars bearing witness to all they have endured, they are also a living testament to the progress and transformation of Colombia.

Personally, this canvas represented a bold step that forced me to completely step out of my comfort zone, challenging me to channel the immense power of the animal through a palette of intense and visually striking colors.

A detail to look at closely: When contemplating the work, I invite you to observe how the structure of "la casilla" is not simply floating in the background, but rather rests directly on the crab's shell, transforming the creature into a living embodiment of our history.
