This work originates from a tender childhood ritual that almost all of us share: the custom of holding a seashell to our ear, hoping to hear the distant murmur of the ocean. However, in this mystical universe, that marine ebb and flow is transformed into something sacred. The girl with the hummingbird's head closes her eyes to withdraw from the physical world and listen, with absolute reverence and attention, to the voices, stories, and legacies that her ancestors transmit to her through the seashell.
